Springfield, MO interior decorator wins international design award
The Shivers’ Team wins Summit Award for sales in 2015
Nola Shivers, owner of Decorating Den Interiors in Springfield, MO, received a top design in award in her company’s international design contest for outstanding design work. The award was presented at Decorating Den Interiors 47th annual conference held recently in San Antonio, Texas.
Shivers was awarded FIRST prize for her dramatic room makeover in the window treatment category. Shivers explained that her design featured an arched silk cornice with boxed pleated drapery panels and accented with a beautiful Tableaux iron art.
This was the company’s 32nd annual International Dream Room awards competition. Judging was done by journalists from across the U.S. and Canada who write about interiors for such publications at Traditional Home, House Beautiful, Design NY, the Canadian magazine Arabella and for national syndication and regional publications. Winners were selected based on their design excellence, creative problem solving, and overall presentation.
The Shivers’ Design Team also received the Summit Award for her 2015 sales, which were in the top 1% company-wide.
Shivers and her team have access to an extensive library of before and after high resolution, digital photographs featuring the top three room makeovers in each of the 12 categories of room makeovers, which makes for an ideal workshop or seminar program for organizations looking for meeting programs. “I also have new ideas and product information from many discussions with our suppliers,” she added.
Decorating Den Interior’s room makeovers have been featured in such publications as Good Housekeeping, Canadian House and Home, Better Homes and Gardens, Woman’s Day, House Beautiful, House and Garden and Arabella. In addition, the company has been featured in a variety of design segments on HGTV and The Discovery Channel.
“As North America’s largest interior design and home furnishings franchise company, we represent more than 85 home furnishings suppliers and offer our customers furniture, case goods, accessories, lighting, floor and wall coverings, draperies and other hard and soft window treatments,” Shivers explains. “We bring samples directly to the client’s home or office, provide complimentary design services and personally oversee projects through installation.”
Decorating Den Interiors was founded in 1969 and has interior design professionals and decorators throughout the U.S. and Canada. Shivers has owned her franchise since 1997.
