Modern Farmhouse Design

Modern Farmhouse style contains elements like primitive furnishings, soft colors, and vintage fabrics. Antique furniture that features straight lines and very little ornamentation are a staple of farmhouse design. In addition, handmade accessories like baskets, bowls, and pottery are typical. This is where you might find shiplap or planked wood ceilings.

Characteristics:

• Eclectic materials.  This look balances accents of bright chintz floral, gingham, or plaid fabrics with tassel or fringe to enhance the feeling that you’re in the English countryside.
• Rustic touches.  Wooden beams, exposed brick, stone flooring, and salvaged wood floors are central elements of farmhouse interior design.
